Smiles all round for social club summer fun

George joined the Missing Chords

TODYS’ weekly Hub Club finished for the summer with a spectacular evening.

Teams of youngsters with their parent-carers and volunteers competed in a variety of traditional games including bagatelle, skittles, quoits, puzzles, coconut shy – challenges set up in the grounds of The Hub, by Bob Garton and colleagues, members of Teesdale Lions.

Kimberley and Grace, of local company #kimskitchen, very generously provided and served a delicious BBQ supper, enjoyed by all and described as ‘a feast and the best BBQ ever’.

Everyone gathered around the outside stage to sit back, relax, enjoy and sing along to favourites skilfully performed by guest artists, The Missing Chords.

Joan Bailey, spokesperson for Teesdale Opportunities for Youngsters with Disabilities (TODYS), said: “A huge thank you to all the TODYS’ volunteers for their commitment and excellent support throughout the year, and also to the Teesdale Lions, Kimberley and Grace, and The Missing Chords for a wonderful evening.”

Hub Club is a social club for youngsters, run by Mencap-affiliated charity TODYS.
