Memory walk for dementia

CHARITY EVENT: Those who took part in the walk

STAFF from Market Cross Jewellers – Amanda Hardy and Julie Foster – organised a memory walk along the banks of the River Tees, taking in the historical sights of Barnard Castle of old.

They wanted to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society which is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today.

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer – someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure.

Amanda said: “Having seen friends, colleagues and their family members suffer, that any funds that we raise to help research find an end to this cruel disease is very important to myself and

Julie.

“Every penny raised counts, and without the wonderful support that we receive from our local community then none of this would be possible.”
