Concert to jazz up Dalton and Gayles Village Hall

JAZZ IN THE VILLAGE: Dominic Spencer and Ian Millar are to perform at Dalton and Gayles Village Hall

JAZZ comes to Dalton and Gayles next week in the form of saxophonist Ian Millar and pianist Dominic Spencer.

The Edinburgh-based duo have toured the UK extensively under their Jazz in the Village series, playing in hundreds of halls off the beaten track across the country.

This show, on Friday, April 13, is a fundraiser for Dalton and Gayles Village Hall.

The duo perform their own interpretations of jazz standards as well as original compositions.

They have enjoyed considerable success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with their Jazz at Lunchtime show.

Mr Spencer said the duo’s jazz was an “accessible, meolodic style” which allowed them to improvise and develop ideas without losing the essence of each piece of music.

Show time is 8pm and tickets are £9 in advance and £10 on the door. To book, contact Sue on 01833 621234.

There will be a licensed bar and nibbles available.
